Eighteen months changed the scale of YTC in Mexico.
Working with YTC's instructors, local facilitators, schools and community partners, Andrea turned a $49,700 U.S. Embassy grant into an operating network.

Build YTC Mexico to belong in Mexico.

Andrea is leading the work to establish YTC's nonprofit status in Mexico — so the network can raise support, form partnerships and grow with greater independence, while staying connected to YTC's international learning community. Funds raised locally stay local: a Mexican donor's support serves young people in the donor's own communities.

The partners are already at the table.

COBAED and Durango schools · Universidad Tecnológica del Mezquital · Boys & Girls Clubs of Mexico · Tecnológico Universitario de México · Georgia Tech Student Makers · Drexel TechServ · Dream to Succeed. Each brings a different part of the system. Andrea is the coordination that lets them work as one network.

The most important result was the network itself: weekly peer-to-peer instruction, supported by local facilitators, and young people preparing to teach others.
